So what is THE secret to perfectly domed cupcakes? I LOVE cupcakes. They are perfectly packaged, adorable and just the right size of sweetness! In my quest to bake the most perfectly shaped cupcake, here is what I found.
Beat the butter and sugar until light and airy and pale yellow. This will help create cupcakes with that pretty domed look!
Do not over-mix or they will be flat looking babies!
Temperature is KING! You can bake them at 180 degrees fan forced for around 20 minutes. If you want to try something a little different and love that domed look then try 200 degrees (fan forced) for 2 minutes and then 150 degrees (fan forced for the balance of the time).
Don’t overfill!
As a general rule, fill your cupcakes to 2/3. This of course depends on the size of your cup cake wrapper so you will need to experiment. I prefer the slightly smaller cup cake wrapper over the big muffin or texan cupcake wrapper.
