My baby cousin recently turned 16 and her parents threw her a beautiful 16th birthday party. I jumped at the chance to help out with baked goodies and styling! I have 2 little boys so anything girlie gets my attention. The colour palette was all about deep purples and pinks (which are so on trend at the moment) contrasted with paler colours and a light grey for the cake. If you LOVE fresh flowers + buttercream you need to read this post!
How gorgeous is this tablescape!!!! The sign in the background was designed by deliciously yours and really framed the whole set up. It was around 1m long! The lovely people at Snap Printing Lane Cove printed it for me on beautiful paper!
Everything flowed around the sign and found a home. The fresh flowers were chosen based on their suitability to the colour theme and were placed all around the baked goodies. The more flowers - the better! For those are interested, a 5am trip to the Sydney Flowers Markets is soooo worth it!
All about the cakes! Tori had 3 cakes! The main cake had pride of place in the centre of the table arrangement and the other 2 cakes which were identical sat on either side. I used different cake stands with varying heights to add dimension and create interest.
The baked goodies were plentiful! Cupcakes, cookies and Tim Tam truffles with gold leaf! The vanilla cupcakes were topped with a simple butter cream and I inserted fresh flowers into each cupcake. The cookies were covered in fondant and then I hand-painted a simple flower on each cookie.
The flowers were absolutely gorgeous! I chose a mixture of roses, lisianthus, snap-dragons and other deep red or maroon coloured flowers. I am not really a flower expert so I chose the flowers based on the colours I was after and the look I was hoping to achieve.
